This episode is about redefining what selling actually means for you – letting it be simple, consistent, and aligned, instead of overwhelming or performative.
When you allow yourself to show up imperfectly and sell in a way that feels good, you build momentum, confidence, and a business that grows sustainably over time.
[00:00:24] Hi, and welcome back to another episode of. The soulful sales show. So [00:00:30] today’s episode is a little bit special. What you are about to listen to was originally recorded as a presentation I gave at the third [00:00:40] soulful sales summit just a little bit over a year ago. And it’s something that still stands true today, and I realized that [00:00:50] I wanted to share this message far and wide.
[00:00:52] So I’m putting it here on the podcast as a way to get it into more ears, and also to [00:01:00] celebrate the fact that the fourth soulful sales summit has just opened for registration, which is super, super exciting. So if you like [00:01:10] the vibe of this episode, if you wanna hear what is working when it comes to soulful selling in 2026, specifically make sure you get your free [00:01:20] ticket to the Soulful Sales summit@soulfulsalessummit.com, and I will put the link in the show notes.
[00:01:27] But yeah, this episode is all [00:01:30] about how to feel good selling every day, and why we should be selling every day. Really, really important message, so I hope you [00:01:40] enjoy. So before I get into all of the details, I wanna ask you a question. And that question is, when you think about selling every single [00:01:50] day, how does that feel in your body?
[00:01:53] So I would love for you just to take a moment to tune in, notice your kind of gut reaction. Notice any sensations [00:02:00] in your body. Does it feel exciting? Does it feel heavy? Does it feel scary or overwhelming? I just really want you to try and acknowledge that [00:02:10] feeling without any judgment because there is no wrong answer.
[00:02:14] Selling every day can understandably trigger a lot of feelings for us, [00:02:20] especially for those of us who might be more sensitive, thoughtful, neurodivergent, low on capacity, introverted, and so [00:02:30] on. Lots of my audience have responded to that question, saying things to me like, that sounds impossible. That would be exhausting, or That [00:02:40] would annoy my people, or it wouldn’t work.
[00:02:42] All of these responses are totally normal, okay? But here’s the thing, selling every day doesn’t have [00:02:50] to mean these things. It doesn’t have to mean what you think it means, and that’s exactly what we’re diving into in this presentation. So here’s what we’re [00:03:00] gonna cover. In the next 15, 20 minutes, we’re gonna talk about why we should all consider selling every day and the many benefits of doing so.
[00:03:09] We’re [00:03:10] gonna talk about how selling every day can mean many different things, and how you can find a version of daily selling that works for you as an individual. And we’re gonna talk about the [00:03:20] practical and mindset shifts to help you feel good. About selling every day. ’cause it isn’t sustainable if it feels terrible and you force yourself to do it anyway.[00:03:30]
[00:03:30] So let’s start with why we need to sell every day. As online business owners, we are constantly [00:03:40] bombarded with lists of all the things we need to be doing in our businesses. And I promise I am not here to tell you that there is one right [00:03:50] way to succeed, which just so happens to be my way and that you need to do exactly as I tell you, that is not what I believe about business.
[00:03:58] I actually believe there are many [00:04:00] paths to success in our online businesses, but of course they all do involve. Some kind of selling. Without selling, and obviously [00:04:10] there are many ways in which we can sell. We can’t bring in the clients to fill up our courses and offers. We can’t make the impact that we wanna create through those offers.
[00:04:19] And importantly, [00:04:20] we won’t make the money to keep it sustainable to run our businesses. Now, I know that you know this, I know you know that you need to sell as a business [00:04:30] owner, but there is a very real reason why we act like we don’t know it. We’re afraid of annoying people. We’re afraid that people won’t like our stuff.
[00:04:38] We’re afraid that [00:04:40] selling is icky and that we’re gonna hurt someone in the process or ourselves, or that we have to be somebody we’re not in order to make all of this work. And the truth is that [00:04:50] practicing selling every day. Is going to be the way that you find the best way for you. So just a quick little personal story for you.[00:05:00]
[00:05:00] I have actually been selling online since 2008, so I’m pretty practiced at it. But you know, when I started in 2008, I was young. I was fresh out of [00:05:10] university. I had no idea what I was doing. I was never super confident and I absolutely did not wanna show my face. So it took me a little while, but I found my safe space to sell, which was [00:05:20] basically.
[00:05:20] Near daily selling. Selling specifically via email. So I am practice at it even though it took me a little bit of time. But that said, I still get stuck in periods of [00:05:30] overthinking, self-doubt, comparison, perfectionism. So I challenge myself to sell every day. For a set period of time. So the [00:05:40] aim of my challenge is literally what I just said, just to sell every day.
[00:05:44] There are usually no other fixed rules than that. So how I show I show up to sell is totally up to me. [00:05:50] And just by setting myself that challenge, it helps me to embrace the idea of imperfect action taking, because I know I gotta sell, but I can [00:06:00] just practice and, you know, decide in the moment how I get to do it, and it builds momentum.
[00:06:06] In my business with way less resistance because I’ve made that [00:06:10] decision to sell every day. Just by having the intention that I’m gonna show up and sell every day, I see new opportunities that my brain would not have thought of otherwise. [00:06:20] The thing is that so many of us think that selling has to be one thing.
[00:06:24] It has to be sending all the emails, it has to be sharing on social media. It has to be contacting people by [00:06:30] dms, getting on sales calls and all that stuff. But when I set myself the challenge to sell every day. I realized that it can mean so much more. It’s just that it wasn’t on my radar. [00:06:40] I hadn’t set the intention, and I wasn’t noticing those opportunities until I put daily selling.
[00:06:45] Front and center of my mind, which is why I also now share this [00:06:50] challenge with my members inside the soulful Sales Society on a regular basis. What I notice when I do this challenge with my members is that every time someone does their first [00:07:00] version of a Cel Day challenge, they have all kinds of questions and fears and anxieties about it.
[00:07:04] They are, they’re always asking me, but how? Like, what exactly do I need to do? What is required of me? How long is this [00:07:10] gonna take? Is it gonna take too long? What exactly? Can you tell me the exact actions I need to take? And every time I tell them, you just need to show up and sell. Every day, you get [00:07:20] to decide.
[00:07:20] And when they complete the challenge, they come out of it with a whole new perspective on what selling every day really means. So I’m gonna share a few examples with you in a [00:07:30] sec. But this is all to say that you go in with an intention to sell every day. You get to show up and sell however [00:07:40] you want, and usually you will come out the other side with a whole new perspective on what selling every day actually means to you.
[00:07:47] And it’s. Often way easier [00:07:50] and way less scary than you thought at the start. So let’s talk about some of the other benefits of challenging yourself to sell every day. So selling every day is [00:08:00] about more than just making more sales. Now, obviously, when you sell more often, when you share. Your offers with people and make it clear how they can buy from [00:08:10] you.
[00:08:10] You are gonna put yourself in the very best position to make more sales, either immediately or certainly set them up for later. The thing is, [00:08:20] sometimes you will set yourself a challenge like this and it will immediately pay off and it’ll be really obvious that it’s working, but sometimes it doesn’t. And that’s okay.
[00:08:27] I can promise you. Even if you [00:08:30] don’t directly make more sales immediately as a result of doing a challenge like this, it is gonna do more for your business than if you had not set yourself this challenge. But like I said, it’s [00:08:40] not just about making more sales. Selling every day also helps you to clarify your message because you are putting things out there.
[00:08:47] You are being less perfectionistic. [00:08:50] Is that a word about what you are, like the content you’re writing and you are practicing how you share your offers with people more often. You get to [00:09:00] quickly get data back about what works and what doesn’t. When you are selling more often, which is really important information, you build your confidence around showing up and selling, [00:09:10] and you get to experiment to find your best way to sell.
[00:09:13] So maybe some selling strategies don’t work for you and don’t feel good and are draining, but when you are [00:09:20] selling more often, you find a quicker route to finding the ones that do feel good for you and beyond all of that. Selling every day. Putting your work [00:09:30] out there more often helps you to impact more people with your incredible work because I am sure that whatever it is that you sell, you [00:09:40] make a difference in people’s lives when you sell it.
[00:09:42] It could be a tiny, tiny difference. It could be a huge, huge difference, but the more you put it out there, the more you’re gonna be able to make that difference. [00:09:50] So how do you actually sell every day without burning out? Now I know I said that there was only one rule of the sell everyday challenge, and that’s to sell every day [00:10:00] and you get to do it your way, and it’s not about the how, but I get it.
[00:10:03] You still need to figure out how to get started. So I’m gonna share a few tips with you before we wrap up and if you wanna [00:10:10] practice this, by the way, I’m also gonna share at the end a way for us to do this together with a fun incentive. To keep you motivated, so hang on till the end of [00:10:20] the presentation and I’ll share more about that.
[00:10:23] So sustainably showing up to sell every day is as much about the mindset and the way you look at selling as it [00:10:30] is about the practical actions you take. So there are three things that I really want you to remember when it comes to selling every day. The first is that this is about [00:10:40] imperfect action and building momentum.
[00:10:42] The more you practice, the better you get at selling. You are gonna do some sales activities that don’t work. You are gonna put some content out [00:10:50] there that no one pays attention to. You are gonna put offers out there that flop. That is okay. The more you practice this, the more you build momentum, the more and [00:11:00] more quickly you figure out what does work for you.
[00:11:03] The second thing I want you to remember is that there is such. Power in committing to the process. [00:11:10] The benefit of setting a challenge for a fixed period of time, and I haven’t actually told you the time periods, but I have set myself challenges from as little as a week to as much as a month. The benefit of [00:11:20] setting yourself a cell everyday challenge for a fixed period of time is that you get to detach a bit from the results because you’ve already made the decision.
[00:11:27] You are gonna show up and sell every day, and you just [00:11:30] need to follow through with that decision. It takes so much of the pressure off and like I said. You are playing a long game here. Sometimes you’re gonna see results [00:11:40] immediately, and sometimes you won’t see any results right away. That is okay. You’ve made your decision, you’re committing to the process, you’re showing up anyway, and the more you sell, the more you are [00:11:50] building trust, momentum, and consistency, which is going to boost your longer term success.
[00:11:55] And 0.3 around the sell everyday mindset is that I want [00:12:00] you to celebrate every small win along the way. Like I said, you cannot control how many sales you make, but you can control the actions you take. You can control the [00:12:10] way you catch your thoughts and. Shift your mindset along the process. So if you sent the email, well done.
[00:12:17] If you had a worry that you were gonna annoy people by sending that [00:12:20] email and you worked through that worry, well done. Celebrate that. Did you show up on social media even just for five minutes? Amazing. Every single action you take [00:12:30] is a step forward for the future of your business. And when you track your progress by celebrating the things that you can control and these small wins, you are gonna see just how [00:12:40] much you have grown as a result of setting yourself a challenge like this.
[00:12:44] So part two, the juicy part, the action taking when it comes to selling every day. So the [00:12:50] key question that I always say to my members to ask themselves when we’re doing a sell everyday challenge is, did I make it clear to my right people today that I am open for business and [00:13:00] that I have something they can buy?
[00:13:02] So I do actually have a free Google Doc checklist of 22 ways that you can practically show up and sell. But basically, as [00:13:10] long as you can answer that question, oh, and there will be a link to that Google Doc to, to sign up for, for that freebie somewhere around this, by the way. But yeah, as basically, as long as you can answer that question, did I [00:13:20] make it clear to my right people that I’m open for business, that I have something they can buy?
[00:13:23] Then that counts as a daily sales action. So just to give you some examples, some of my favorite daily sales [00:13:30] actions when I’m doing a salary day challenge include repurposing or resharing old emails and social media posts, adding calls to action to content that I’m already creating. [00:13:40] So for example, like if I’m already showing up on social media, or if I’m already releasing a podcast episode, I’ll just add something there about an offer I have for sale, adding popups and [00:13:50] alert bars to my website.
[00:13:51] Teasing upcoming offers. So even if you don’t have something to sell right now, maybe you are working on something and you can let people in a little bit behind the scenes, like just saying something really [00:14:00] simple like, oh, I’ve got this exciting thing coming up. Or just sharing a name or a graphic that counts too.
[00:14:05] Or sharing related offers inside other things. So you may [00:14:10] have noticed that I mentioned my soulful sales society membership a few times throughout this presentation. It is subtle, but that is still selling as well. I’m building awareness of the ways in which I’m [00:14:20] open for business and have something that you can buy from me if you are the right fit and if it is the right time.
[00:14:25] I also love batching and scheduling so that I know I’m selling every day [00:14:30] without actually being there every single day. And actually, I think this is how we get to take a fixed period short term, sell everyday challenge and turn it into a longer term. [00:14:40] Philosophy for our business. Eventually we will have freebies and automated email sequences, um, and maybe, you know, SEO that brings [00:14:50] people into our website all the time.
[00:14:51] And then pop-up offers and we’ll build these things up over time so that we are selling every day without even being there. Now, obviously I could keep reeling off [00:15:00] ideas and giving you more ways that you can show up, but I just wanna reiterate, this is about figuring out your best way, and it’s also about practicing.
[00:15:08] Right. If you are someone who finds it [00:15:10] hard to show up and sell, even taking tiny, small actions every day for a fixed period of time is going to build that selling muscle. And like I’ve said already [00:15:20] throughout this presentation, as long as you have an intention to show up and sell every day, I promise that you are gonna see more opportunities to show up and sell.
[00:15:28] That don’t necessarily need to [00:15:30] be difficult. And actually that’s something that I really wanna share with you as well. Don’t overcomplicate this. Yes, selling can be complicated. I also sometimes do higher energy [00:15:40] launches, which have more moving parts. But the great thing about setting yourself a sell everyday challenge is that you can do it outside of those big kind of events, [00:15:50] and you can do it in a really, really simple way, and you can bring people into your offers even when you’re not doing loads of work, even when you’re not doing a fancy [00:16:00] launch and all of that stuff.
[00:16:02] One of my favorite tips actually, for selling every day is that it can be as simple as adding a ps. I [00:16:10] have this offer, and here’s why you should take a look at it to the end of a newsletter, the end of a social media post, the end of a set of stories, the start of a podcast episode, just [00:16:20] wherever you are already showing up, just setting that intention that you’re gonna give people a tiny little invitation to something that you have as a paid offer.
[00:16:28] And you can do this, by the [00:16:30] way, even if the content you’re sharing isn’t super related to that offer, I think that’s a really good way to build that selling muscle. And there are no rules. If you wanna set your challenge and sell multiple [00:16:40] times a day, do that. If you wanna just do the teeniest tiny steps, because that is a stretch for you, do that.
[00:16:46] But I do encourage you to tune in if you’re someone who’s not used to selling. The [00:16:50] tiny steps are great, but if you’re someone who is used to selling regularly, then just ask yourself, how can you stretch yourself a little bit when you set yourself? A sell everyday challenge. Okay? So if [00:17:00] you want, you can totally go ahead, use what I’ve shared here and set yourself your own sell everyday challenge.
[00:17:06] But if you want to be supported to do this [00:17:10] alongside other like-minded people, and with my support as well, the great news is you can be supported with a sell everyday challenge inside of the Soulful Sales [00:17:20] Society membership, and you can do it.
