#79: Accepting Our Self-Doubt, Letting Go of the Shoulds & Defining Success on Your Own Terms with Kelsey Mech

Today I’m chatting with Kelsey Mech, a clinical counsellor and trauma therapist, who is passionate about exploring the intersections between mental health and living a more intentional life. We talk about how anxiety and self-doubt show up in our creative work and businesses, being authentic and having boundaries, the societal expectations that impact our mental health, letting go of the shoulds and working on our own version of success, and meeting yourself where you’re at to make positive changes when navigating all of this.

Show Notes

Today I’m chatting with Kelsey Mech, a clinical counsellor and trauma therapist, who is passionate about exploring the intersections between mental health and living a more intentional life. We talk about how anxiety and self-doubt show up in our creative work and businesses, being authentic and having boundaries, the societal expectations that impact our mental health, letting go of the shoulds and working on our own version of success, and meeting yourself where you’re at to make positive changes when navigating all of this.

Kelsey is particularly interested in supporting women to achieve emotional wellness through living in alignment with the natural cycles of the seasons and their own bodies, radically tending to their needs, and tuning into their authentic expression of self. She is just in the process of launching a membership program diving deeply into this work. Kelsey also offers online courses and programs on anxiety, connecting with your inner child, and one-on-one therapy. When she’s not working on her business, you can probably find Kelsey going on long walks in the woods with her partner, and their new puppy Zephyr or curled up with a good book and a cup of coffee.

“So much of our anxiety comes from outside of us”

We talked about:

  • How anxiety and self-doubt manifest in business
  • Authenticity & boundaries around sharing our anxiety
  • The societal expectations that lead to our anxiety & trying to fit into somebody else’s version of success
  • How this manifests for business owners, and what we can do about it
  • Meeting yourself where you’re at to let go of the shoulds
